Why famous?

Locations
In Las Vegas, famous hotel or resort also means “on the Strip”. The Strip is a three and a half mile section of Las Vegas Boulevard that spans South to North. The South end resort is MGM Grand (also the biggest hotel in the world). The North end is Sahara.
The only really-famous hotel Downtown is Golden Nugget, right in the middle of “Freemont Street Experience”.
There are more famous hotels located off the Strip, but The Palms is considered to beat them all.
Budgets
You should know that you don't have to spend your lifetime savings to book a room at one of most famous Las Vegas hotels. You just need to choose from among packages, deals and discounts and of-course, traveling periods, the one that suits you best.
Packages include air-travel, accommodation and sometimes other kinds of activities. The good thing about packages is price, the ugly aspect is you might not find a mix of services that totally suit your travel needs.
Where to look for packages:
- airlines
- on-line travel agencies
- travel magazines
- National Geographic Traveler
- Budget Travel Magazine
Usually, hotels are very pleased if you go directly to their web-sites and make a reservation, if you come back after staying there once, if you become member of their casino club or even if you answer a survey. All your efforts are rewarded with discounts or other facilities on the resort's property.
Also, it is very important that you realise that “famed” does not necessarily mean “most expensive”. Boardwalk and Orleans are relevant examples.
