Sahara

Sahara Las Vegas tries to keep-up with its Moroccan theme (dome-sharped rooftops, golden-rich ornaments and plenty of Arabian motifs in the lobby and rooms decors). Sahara's one of the Strip veterans, dating back in 1952, and seems to have lost some glamour. But still offers spacious accommodation, attractive shows and a worthy roller-coaster ride.

Although its theme is set on Northern Africa, Sahara Las Vegas never forgets what Vegas is all about: gaming and all-American-style entertainment.

Room description The resort offers around 1,700 nicely-priced guest rooms, newly renovated and adorned in Moroccan motifs. Still, amenities are poor considering the Strip's standards. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available.

  • cable/satellite TV & pay movies
  • air conditioning
  • telephone & voice mail
  • iron/ironing board

The Casino is quite large (85,000 square feet). Added to classic gaming options there's a generous keno lounge and reel slots banks; also, the casino area features a race and sports book. Club Sahara is very rewarding for loyal players.

Dining choices are limited to casual, but this should not be a loss, as prices are very friendly and portions are generous. If still undecided, the 900-seat Sahara Buffet should have some goodies for you.
