NEWH Las Vegas, a chapter of the national non-profit organization Network of Executive Women in Hospitality, recently held its second annual Hospitality Awards for Excellence--a.k.a. the HOSPY’s--at the Latour Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas. The program recognized deserving individuals and firms in the hospitality industry for achievements in architecture, design, and development.

Wynn Resorts, Limited today reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2005.

2,700 rooms; minimum price — $230 a night; 70-foot waterfall and a 3-acre lake; 18 restaurants; chandeliers and lighting, heavy fabrics, mosaic tiles, precious woodwork, man-made mountain up-front, all summed up to $2.7 billion. That is, in few words, the reason why thousands of people felt they had to crowd near the Wynn resort on April 28, for the grand opening.

The towers of the legendary Desert Inn in Las Vegas (nine-story each) were imploded on November 17, 2004, in order to make room for a new construction in the "Wynn Las Vegas" project, initially planned to span over 20 acres of land.
