Steve Wynn wants to clear up a misunderstanding of his new resort's financial performance and he is only talking to Channel 8 Eyewitness News. There have been concerns about the resort because of how much it cost to build and how much it needs to make to stay financially afloat.

Eyewitness New's Gary Waddell sat down with Wynn in his office Thursday afternoon. Wynn said that it is to be expected that the opening months of a casino's performance will show a loss because that's when a lot of pre-opening expenses are written off.

But he says, even with that, his opening quarter was better than any other hotel in the city's history. And Wynn said, reports last week of layoffs at his resort were wrong and have been damaging to his resort's workforce.
